Prayer Shawl for Josephine Haight

My dear friend Josephine (Jo as we call her) has been diagnosed with cancer. Little does the cancer know it doesn't stand a chance against Jo!

I made her a prayer shawl to help her get through Chemotherapy.

The only pattern used was a checkerboard pattern of 6x6, knit border of 6x6. I used Caron One Pound Country Rose with a matching varigated for stripes and fringe.

Jo lost her battle with cancer December 2009. Love and miss you Jo-girl~

More Hats for the Hospital and for Save the Children Organization

Download the Pattern for the baby hats from here:
I sent two of these hats to the "Save the Children" organization for distribution, the green one and the multi-colored one beside it. Can you afford to donate too? If so, click here to make a monetary donation: http://www.savethechildren.org/donate/?WT.mc_id=0607_wtg_index

Plastic Knitting

Here is my first attempt at making "Pl-arn" (plastic yarn) and knitting with it to make a bag for those quick trips to the grocery store! Tristin is modeling it.

It took (and I'm only guessing here) about 80 grocery sacks that I cut down and connected to make Plarn.

Learn how to make plarn here: http://hellejorgensen.typepad.com/gooseflesh/2007/02/plastic_bag_yar.html

I'll post the pattern link as soon I as I find it again!
